James est un artiste et illustrateur, taïwanais d'origine, à présent américain, vivant à Los Angeles. Il a fait ses études à la School of Visual Arts de New York City. Après son diplôme en 2001, il est rapidement devenu un artiste de renommée, réputé pour ses couvertures pour DC Comics, remportant sept prix Eisner, trois récompenses Harvey, deux médailles d'or et une d'argent de la Société des Illustrateurs de LA, et une médaille d'or de la Société des Illustrateurs de NY. Il a également contribué à de nombreuses publications nationales et internationales. Il travaille notamment pour Time Magazine, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Spin, ESPN, Atlantic Records, Public, Playboy, Knopf, Prada entre autres. Il a également illustré la couverture de tous les Vertigo Comics de la série Fables, pour lequel il a remporté cinq Eisner Awards pour "Best Cover Artist". Ses illustrations, d'une parfaite maîtrise picturale, et d'une mise en scène théâtrale, sont étranges et inquiétantes. Superbe !

James Jean is a Taiwanese-American award winning artist and illustrator living in Los Angeles. He was born in Taiwan but and was raised in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey. He was educated at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Upon graduating in 2001, he quickly became an acclaimed cover artist for DC Comics, garnering seven Eisner awards, three consecutive Harvey awards, two gold medals and a silver from the Society of Illustrators of LA, and a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators of NY. He has also contributed to many national and international publications. His clients include Time Magazine, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Spin, ESPN, Atlantic Records, Target, Playboy, Knopf, Prada among others. He has also illustrated every cover of the Vertigo Comics series Fables, for which he has won five Eisner Awards for "Best Cover Artist". His illustrations, with a perfect pictural skill, and a theatrical staging, are strange and disturbing. Superb!
